Steps to Giving Access to a Facebook Page
Here’s the step-by-step way to give someone access to your Facebook Page so they can post on behalf of the company:
If You Manage the Page Directly (through Facebook)
- Log in to your personal Facebook account.
- Go to the Page you manage.
- In the left menu, click Settings (or Page Settings if it shows).
- Select Page Roles (or New Pages Experience → Page Access).
- Under Assign a New Page Role, type the person’s name or email linked to their Facebook account.
- Choose their role:
- Admin – full control (same as you).
- Editor – can create/edit posts, respond to messages, see insights (best for posting).
- Moderator – can reply to messages & comments but not publish.
- Advertiser – can run ads only.
- Analyst – insights only.
- Click Add and enter your password to confirm.
They’ll receive a notification/invitation. Once they accept, they can post.
If You Use Meta Business Suite (recommended for companies)
- Go to business.facebook.com.
- In the left menu, click Settings → People.
- Click Add People, then enter the person’s business email.
- Choose their level:
- Employee Access – limited to assigned tasks.
- Admin Access – full permissions.
- Assign them to your Facebook Page and set their role (Editor if they just need to post).
- Send invite → they accept via email → done.
Best Practice
- If you only want someone to post content, assign them as an Editor.
- Avoid giving Admin unless you fully trust them (Admins can remove you).
- Use Meta Business Suite if you plan to have multiple people manage posts, ads, and Instagram together—it’s more secure and organized.
