Changing Google Business Profile from “Permanently Closed” to “Open”
If Google is showing your company as “Permanently Closed” on your Business Profile, here’s how you can change it back:
1. Log in to Google Business Profile
- Go to Google Business Profile Manager.
- Sign in with the Google account that manages your business listing.
2. Select Your Business
- Find your business in the dashboard.
- If it says “Permanently Closed,” click on the listing.
3. Mark as Open
- On the left-hand menu (or directly in search if you’re managing from Google Search):
- Click “Info.”
- Next to the “Close this business on Google” section, you should see the option to “Mark as Open.”
- Confirm the change.
4. Update Your Business Info
- Double-check your hours, phone number, and website are up to date.
- Make sure your business category is correct.
- Add fresh posts or photos to signal activity to Google.
5. Wait for Review
- Google may take a few hours to a few days to update the status.
- Sometimes they’ll request verification (like a postcard, phone call, or email) if they want to confirm the change.
If you don’t see the option to reopen, you can:
- Click “Report a Problem” or “Suggest an Edit” on the listing in Google Maps and mark it as “Open.”
- Or, contact Google Business Profile Support via chat or email here.
